Midland Railway Study Centre
The Midland
Railway Study Centre houses the largest publicly accesible
collection of Midland Railway ephemera and documentation. The
Study Centre is brought to you by: The Roy F. Burrows Midland
Collection Trust, The Midland Railway Society and the Derby's
Museum of Industry and History.

Johnson's locomotive aesthetics" by Jack Braithwaite.
The author has spent much of his life studying the locomotives of
Samuel Waite Johnson and, in particular, their aesthetic attributes;
keeping meticulous records of what others have said about Johnson and
his locomotives, both from contemporary and modern sources.
The specially commissioned Tom
Wright wagon from Bachmann is now SOLD OUT. The
good news though is that from late 2009 we will have a new Bachmann
wagon based on 'Griff' of Nuneaton.
Rowsley : a rural railway
centre --
a profusely illusrated 128 page study of the development of railways in
the Rowsley area of Derbyshire from the coming of the railway in
1849 to present day restoration efforts.
Aims of the Society
- Bring together those interested in the Midland
Railway; including its predecessors, successors, joint lines and working
arrangements.
- Disseminate information via a selection of
publications.

annum, supplemented with a members Newsletter.

aspects of the company's operations, these being the culmination of
members researches.
